FINE ARTS- PAINTING

THEORY

  • Brief History of Indian Art
    • Pre-Historic Period, Indus Valley Civilization, Mauryan Period, Sunga Period, Kushan Period and Gandhar Period.
    • Patna or Company school of art.
    • Short Notes on- Mosaic, Aesthetics, Composition, Mudra, Mural, Beauty.
  • Fundamental of Art
    • Eye Level- Its use in painting
    • Horizon- Its use in painting
    • Explain the terms such as- Vanishing points, fore-ground, middle ground and background.
    • Short notes- Force, Free-hand and Rhythm
    • Scope of art in present India.
    • All types of basic colours(detailed study).

PRACTICAL

  • Practice of line drawing and free hand drawing.
  • Use of Perspective in drawing- in Landscapes, still life.
  • Drawing from objects, nature to study, mass volume and proportion. Creating solidity by Light & Dark. Medium- pencil shading, water colours or oil colours.
  • Ornamental & Geometrical designs-1/4 sheet using two three colours. Medium- Poster colours.
  • Letter writing- size 5"x3" cm in English onlyMedium- Pen ink/poster colours on half sheet
Note:
  • Minimum 5 sheets of every topic is to be made by the students.

CRAFT WORK

    • Making different models on buildings, Gardens with cardboard, paper and other waste materials.
    • Handling of clay- making basic shapes, flowers etc.
    • Pottery designing.
Note:
    • Files to be prepared by every students. Work exhibition by students is compulsory.

CHITRA BHUSHAN PART-II (Second Year)

FINE ARTS- PAINTING

THEORY

  • History of Indian Art
    • Gupta Period
    • Ajanta, Bagh, Sittanvassal, Badami, Ellora- Elephanta, Cave Paintings.
    • Jain School of Painting.
    • Rajasthani Paintings.
  • Art of China.
  • Greek Art- Classical and Hellenistic period
  • Roman Art
  • Aesthetics
    • Shadangas of Indian Art.
    • Theories of creativity and Raasa
    • Short notes on- Intuition, Beauty, Religion, Morality, Sculpture, Miniature

PRACTICAL

  • Design:- Geometrical or Floral (Ornamental) using ratio and proportion. Simple all- Over designs for curtains and corner designs for table cloth. Medium- Poster colours. Colours should not be more than three to four. Size 1/4 imperial sheet for designs
  • Study of colours:- The colours wheel. Nature of colours-i,e. Value, Hue , Intensity, Tints, Tones and shades of every colour.
  • Landscape:- Sketching and colouring from nature, on the spot landscaping. Medium- Water/poster colours. size 1/2 imperial sheets.
Note:- Minimum five sheets of every topic is to be made by students.

CRAFT WORK:(Paper Mache)

  • Moulds(any shape)
  • Preparation and use of pulp for cast.
  • Colouring and decorating simple natural forms.

FINE ARTS- PAINTING

THEORY

  • History of Indian Art
    • Mughal Perio, Pahari School of Art (Guler, Kangra, Basholi, Chamba, Kullu, Garhwal)
    • Western Indian Manuscripts (Palm Leaf)
  • Indian Sculptures
    • Origin of Indian Sculptures.
    • Sculptures from Mohan Jadaro and Harrappa
    • Mauryan period sculptures
  • History of western art
    • Early Christian and Byzantine art
    • Ranaissance in Itly
  • Aesthetics
    • Comparison between Indian styles of figures and Western style of figures drawing.
    • Difference between Modern Art and Abstract Art.
    • Define Terms- Realistic Art, Folk Art, Antique Study, Life Study.

PRACTICAL

  • Antique Study:- Any two to three pieces of sculpture. Medium- Pencil or Charcoal shading.
  • Life study:- Sketching of a model sitting before you. Full life size Medium- Pencil shading Size:-1/2 imperial size
  • Landscape:- Sketching from nature Medium- Pastel and water colours Size-1/2 imperial sheet
  • Designs:- Overall designs for saree and curtain cover, design for table cloth,pillows. Size- 1/4 imperial sheet. - Poster colours.
  • Letter writing- size 5"x3" cm in English only

CHITRA VISHARD PART-1 (Fourth Year)

FINE ARTS- PAINTING

THEORY

  • Bengal School of Art
  • Didarganj Yakshi, Amravati Yakhshas and Yakshinis.
  • Sanchi Stupas.
  • Kal pasutra Manuscripts.
  • Impressionism- Claude Monet, Manet (any other 5 artist)
  • Post- Impressionism.
  • Indian Folk art.
  • Indian Sculptures- Mathura and Amravati school of Art.
  • Impact of Persian art over Indian art

AESTHETICS

  • Detailed study of colours, basic types, nature of colours, Tints, tone and shades of colours. Emotional effects of colours on human beings.
  • Define terms Raasa and Bhava, Modernity, Gestures and Poster stained glass and folk art.

PRACTICAL

  • Scal Drawing:
    • Plans and sections of simple furniture like- chairs, tables, almirah, beds etc. Designing furniture using all these simple, parallel and angular perspective of geometrical solids. Medium- Poster colours Size- 1/4 imperial sheet
  • Book Covers:
    • On any Social, Politics, Economical topics. Medium-Poster Colours Size- 25x30 cm.
  • Landscapes:- Study of nature
    • On the spot Landscaping is compulsory and atleast 5 landscapes on the spot is to be made by students.Medium- Water or Oil Colours Size-1/2 imperial sheet.

FINE ARTS- PAINTING

THEORY I

  • Artists of 17th century- Poussin, Rembrandt, Varmeer, Franshals, El- Greco, Berhani.
  • Role of Michaelangelo in Painting art.
  • Detailed study of surrealism, Cubism and Futurism. Their work style of Painting and about artist

THEORY PAPER II

  • Evolution of oil painting
  • Difference between western art and Modern art.
  • Concept of Beauty based on ancient scriptures
  • Architecture of Mughal Period.
  • Define the terms- Balance, shape, space, texture, mosaic, mudra, Pealism, Perspective, Direction.

PRACTICAL

  • Portrait Painting:
    • Drawing on the basic study of anatomy. Medium- Pastel, Pencil and water. Size- 1/2 imperial sheet
  • Composition: (Realistic and Abstract)
    • On any Social Functions. Medium-Water and Oil Colours Size- 1/2 imperial sheet
  • Letter writing and layout:
    • Study of simple lettering.Layouts of monograms and letter headset.
